The ideal candidate will possess an MA/MS degree in computer science, statistics, biology, mathematics, or engineering and proficiency in working with large-scale genomic data analysis.

Duties:

Normalize and perform statistical comparison of large-scale datasets;
Write and implement programs to facilitate data analysis;

Perform di novo motif analysis;

Requirements:

A working knowledge of a scripting language, such as Python or Perl is desired;
Good understanding of biological systems;
Experience in programming and UNIX;
Familiarity with genome browsers, expression profiling or cross-species comparisons is desired;
Experience in implementing bioinformatic and statistical tools to analyze large datasets;
Strong statistical background and experience with R;
Some knowledge of high-throughput genomics technologies or experience analyzing genomic data is desired;
Proficiency with use of web databases;
Excellent problem solving and organization skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Ability to interact effectively with members of the research teams;
Ability to learn and work both collaboratively and independently;
Ability to mentor junior students is desired.
